By creating an account or using Home Service Hero, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
We operate a marketplace that connects homeowners with independent home service professionals. We are not a home services contractor and do not perform the work. Pros are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Home Service Hero.
You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
Pros are solely responsible for the services they offer and perform, for holding any licensing, permits, insurance or certifications required by law in their jurisdiction, and for complying with all applicable regulations and tax obligations. Home Service Hero does not independently verify licensing, insurance or certifications unless expressly stated for a specific program.
Describe jobs accurately, provide safe access to the property, and review quotes before accepting. You are responsible for evaluating whether a pro is right for your job.
A pro may send a final quote after reviewing your request. Payment is authorised and captured when you accept a quote and check out. If a job is cancelled before completion, the payment may be refunded to your original payment method in line with the refund handling built into the app. Refund timing depends on your bank.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Funds for an accepted job are held until the job is marked complete, after which the pro's share is transferred to their connected Stripe account. Home Service Hero deducts a platform fee from each completed job; the current fee is shown at checkout. Payout timing is controlled by Stripe and the pro's payout schedule.
Disputes about the quality, scope or completion of work are primarily between the homeowner and the pro. We may assist by reviewing job records and, where appropriate, issuing a refund through Stripe.
Do not use the app for unlawful activity, to harass others, to circumvent platform payments, to submit false information, or to interfere with the operation or security of the service.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that a pro will accept a job, that any work will meet your expectations, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Service Hero is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of any pro or homeowner. Our total liability relating to a job will not exceed the platform fee we received for that job.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users. You may stop using the service at any time.
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
